Deluxe Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup of butter, softened
• 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
• 1 tsp. of cream of tartar
• 1/2 tsp. of soda
• 1/2 tsp. of almond extract
• 1 tsp. of vanilla
• 1 egg
• 2 1/2 cups of flour
• 1/2 tsp. of white sugar

Instructions

1. 1Mix butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
2. 2Blend in soda and cream of tartar.
3. 3Cover and chill 2-3 hours.
4. 4Divide dough in half. Roll out 3/16 inch thick on a floured cloth.
5. 5Cut with cookie cutters and sprinkle with sugar.
6. 6Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
7. 7Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until light brown on edges.
8. 8Makes about 5 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies.
