  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, diced

Instructions

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Mix sugar and flour together in a medium bowl. Cut in cold butter with 2 knives or pastry blender until the topping is crumbly.
  3. Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over fruit pie filling before baking.

A simple crumb topping, or streusel, made with just 3 easy ingredients that's perfect for topping apple pie, muffins, or coffee cakes. You can add 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or 1/2 cup chopped nuts for added flavor and texture.
