Ingredients
- 2 loaves of frozen bread dough
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) real butter, room temperature
- cinnamon
- sugar
- brown sugar
- 1 stick of softened butter (real butter)
- 1/2 to 3/4 bag of powdered sugar
- milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Thaw bread dough in a greased and sealed bowl until double size.
- Roll out on a well-floured counter to 1/2 inch thick.
- Spread butter, sprinkle with cinnamon to cover the dough, and then cover with brown sugar. This should be a heavy coating of brown sugar.
- Roll into a log and cut into 1/2 inch slices.
- Place in a greased pan. Take slices and lay on their sides so that you can see the layers.
- Space about 1/2 inch apart. Cover with greased foil or a damp towel until the dough rises again.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until done.
- Frost as they are removed from the oven.
- For frosting: Stir butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until thick. Add a little milk at a time to make the frosting smooth.
- Continue to add powdered sugar and milk to make about 2 cups or more of frosting. Frosting should be the consistency of pancake batter or a little thicker.
- I do this by hand, not with a mixer. Can be made ahead of time.
