Makes about 60 pralines
Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 lbs. pecans (broken)
Instructions
- Combine sugar, buttermilk, soda, butter, corn syrup, and salt in a medium saucepan.
- Cook over high heat, stirring often, to 250 degrees and remove from heat.
- Stir in pecans.
- Stir a few more minutes until it is not so glossy.
- Spoon onto wax paper.
Notes
If using one of the newer less refined sugars, it will become not so glossy much quicker.
